Carla Battaglia mieszka w Reggio Emilia (Włochy). Zainteresowanie malarstwem i rysunkiem odziedziczyła po ojcu. Mimo, że jej wykształcenie nie jest związane ze sztuką, nigdy nie zaprzestała kultywować swojej pasji. Jej uwagę od zawsze przyciągał kolor jako źródło silnych emocji.
W ostatnich latach Carla Battaglia eksperymentowała z nowymi technikami artystycznymi. Rozwijała także swoje umiejętności w technice akrylu na Kuntojskholen in Holbaek (Dania), gdzie uczestniczyła w międzynarodowych kursach malarstwa.

Carla Battaglia’s paintings are compositions of a remarkably forceful expressiveness that seem to float between spirit and matter; their iconic allure blends with essentiality of form and a balanced, chromatic harmony that, through delicate yet decisive nuances of colour, transmit a near-tangible energy. Her works have a visceral, emotion-arousing impact thanks to their intense luminosity and the explosion of vigorous abstract forms: chromatic flashes and/or lively colour-filled spaces that combine to electrify the imagination.

Carla Battaglia made the choice of giving “importance to colour, in every hue; shape is secondary”. Her informal style puts emphasis on chromatic tones which, as in a fabric, create a texture of intricate coloured threads on the canvas. In the geometries and the superposition of patterns which are perceived, we find sometimes imperceptible images that wish to be transmitted to us, hidden among colour patches and lines. In this case, it’s up to us to find the shape, to perceive and discover it (if we really feel the need of it) among the hues, the soft textured surfaces and the fluctuating shades.
